Senior Software Developer

Business Unit / Department The market leader in their field. The company is an independent enterprise supplying state-of-the-art products and services globally. All of the products and services are based on robust, high-tech Java-based platforms, powering a multitude of applications (server and web-based). The ICT Operations and Development teams are located in Amsterdam. They meet the most stringent performance standards in design, speed and reliability, and they support multiple high-availability applications for customers around the globe.

Your Opportunity: You will join a dynamic Java team building the next generation of internet based mapping software and help design and build large-traffic, massively-scalable Java servers.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: o Take a leading role in a scrum-driven, TDD & BDD based approach to Java server development. Design, implement, test, integrate, and maintain components for this cutting edge, massively scalable grid-based software platform. o Design and implement high quality Flex and/or JavaScript web interfaces for the innovative products. o Promote quality, innovation, productiveness, and efficiency in all areas of work o Produce high quality, efficient and maintainable code, on time, whilst meeting the business requirements. o Collaborate with other engineers and user interface designer to deliver highly usable products with unique user experience.

Your Profile: o Minimum 3 years experience of web clients development preferably within a commercial environment. o Extensive and proven experience in highly usable user interfaces o Very good knowledge of ActionScript and Flex framework o Experience with JavaScript, Ajax applications, CSS and DOM knowledge is a big plus. o Ability to work within a team.

Knowledge of one of the following programming/scripting languages is a plus: o Python, Java and/or PHP. o Experience in various techniques of automated software tests, such as acceptance-, load- and stress-testing is a plus. o Experience in agile software methodologies and practices, such as Scrum and Test-Driven Development o Good written and verbal communication skills
