All of the products and services are based on a robust, high-tech Software platform, powering any type of application requiring data and related information. The ICT Operations and development function is located in Amsterdam. Meeting the most stringent performance standards in throughput, speed and reliability, the development team supports multiple high-availability applications for professionals in corporate institutions around the globe. Team You will be a part of the small team which is integrating data from various content providers. You will work together with highly experienced professionals, who value the success of the company and its entrepreneurial culture. The team uses an agile development process, which includes test-driven development, continuous integration, and a highly iterative release cycle. The team is looking to further expand its Development Team in Amsterdam with a Java Developer with a creative and open mindset. The team carefully selects and extends its toolset in order to improve productivity. Tools which are currently in use include: Java 6, IntelliJ IDEA, Spring, Groovy, JUnit, JMock, TeamCity, JIRA, CVS and Confluence. The successful application does not need previous experience in all of these tools.

Duties & accountabilities

" Integrate financial content in the software platform " Improve the structure and process of the team development cycle " Build high reliability components for a production platform " Participate in the development of the software platform " Mentor junior developers

Education and experience

" Solid technical background in designing and implementing object oriented systems " Technical requirements gathering where knowledge of financial systems and affinity with numbers are considered a plus " Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on all levels (team, management and customers) " Ability to work well in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities and requirements " Quality driven attitude towards code and documentation " Positive attitude towards agile development methods " Fluency in English, spoken and written; Dutch is a plus

Optional experience " Experience in designing complex enterprise applications with clustered and distributed architectures " Experience with large data warehouse applications
